St. Helens, Oregon – Located about 30 miles north of Portland, the town of Saint Helens, Oregon, served as the filming location for the beloved Disney Channel Original Movie “Halloweentown” in 1998. Of course, the fictional Halloweentown isn’t a real place, but Saint Helens nonetheless celebrates all things spooky — hosting a month-long “Spirit of Halloweentown” event every October since the film’s release. The town transforms their Riverfront District into a real life Halloweentown, and on the first Saturday of October, the town lights the famous big pumpkin that was featured in the film. Saint Helens was also the backdrop for a number of scenes in the first film of the “Twilight” series in 2008.:
