In 1956, they teamed up with businessman Edwin S. Lowe, who had already made it big selling Bingo sets in the 1920s. Lowe bought the idea from its inventors and began producing copies for sale. Lowe changed the name to “Yahtzee,” which kept a nonsensical trace of the game’s old name.
